offshore oil & ocean engineering Renewal of Ultradeepwater Construction Vessel Deep Blue remains in peak condi-tion for the next five years. Gibdock has completed work for Technip, which entrusted the Gibraltar yard with the repair and renewal of Deep Blue , the flagship in its specialized pipelay and subsea construction fleet. Repeat customer Technip relo-cated Deep Blue from the U.S. Gulf for the work, then redeployed the asset outside Europe following com-pletion of the work. Specializing in ultradeepwater field developments, Deep Blue in-cludes an array of reel-lay, J-lay, and flexi-lay technologies. Featur-ing twin 2,800-MT capacity reels, the vessel lays pipes and cables at depths of up to 3,000 m. In the scheduled drydocking, Gibdock undertook steel and pip-ing renewal works, hull and tank surface blasting and recoating, and machinery overhauls to ensure velopment of execution models tai-lored to developer requirements. Site Characterization for Gas Field off Southeast Asia EPCI Collaboration GATE Energy and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaborate on offshore energy infrastructure projects. The two companies will jointly pursue engineering, procurement, con-struction, and installation (EPCI) opportunities in the offshore oil and gas sector, targeting global markets. HHI and GATE Energy will work together to deliver seamless project execution, with roles defined ac-cording to project-specific needs. The MOU provides a framework for future cooperation and informa-tion sharing, with the flexibility to align on specific tenders as oppor-tunities arise. It also includes pro-visions for joint planning, resource integration, and the potential de-Fugro has signed a letter of award to perform a site characterization program for a deepwater gas field development in Southeast Asia. This award represents the largest geotechnical and geophysical sur-vey project for Fugro in the Asia-Pa-cific region to date, reflecting the positive momentum of deepwater developments in the region. This complex project builds on a combination of Fugro’s onshore, nearshore, and offshore geophysical and geotechnical survey services. Geodata acquisition is scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2025, with fieldwork estimated to last approximately one year. De-tailed testing and consulting deliv-erables will continue into 2027. Supporting site planning and engineering design, the resulting ground model will be available to SEA TECHNOLOGY SERVICES THE WORLD Are you doing business in these countries?
