marine renewables eSAIL Data Validation Bureau Veritas Solutions Marine & Offshore (BVS) has completed an independent assessment of the per-formance of bound4blue’s eSAIL technology ( Sea Tech-nology , April 2025) onboard Ville de Bordeaux , a vessel owned by Louis Dreyfus Armateurs (LDA) and chartered by Airbus. Over a 12-month period, the analysis confirmed sig-nificant daily and annual fuel savings, fully aligned with bound4blue’s initial projections and with the results ob-tained by LDA using its own methodology. This align-ment across all parties’ underscores both the reliability of the data and the effectiveness of the system under re-al-world operating conditions. Eco Wave Power has also connected the hydraulic systems and installed its energy conversion unit for the pilot project. This will be a scalable model for integrating wave energy into existing marine infrastructure, informed by active projects in Israel and upcoming deployments in Taiwan, India, and Portugal. Support to Develop Reusable Winch, Connection System Wave Energy at Los Angeles Eco Wave Power has completed the floaters installa-tion for its first U.S. onshore wave energy project at the Port of Los Angeles. The pilot project, hosted by AltaSea and supported by Shell’s Marine Renewable Program, aims to validate Eco Wave Power’s technology in real-world conditions. The floaters were fabricated by All-Ways Metal and installed by C&S Welding Inc., marking a major step to-ward the broader commercialization of wave energy. Acteon’s Rocksteady Tension Tool (RSTT) has been selected by InnovateUK iX, a program designed to fast-track knowledge transfer and accelerate innovation. Ac-teon will collaborate with the Offshore Renewable En-ergy (ORE) Catapult, which supports the program, and the floating offshore wind developer Flotation Energy to progress the RSTT to commercial and technical readi-ness. The RSTT is a reusable in-line winch and connection system that enables mid-line hookup of mooring lines at final tension. Its selection highlights its potential as a transformative solution for optimizing the hook-up and disconnection processes between mooring systems and floating offshore wind turbines. The RSTT aims to significantly reduce capital expen-diture and installation costs by eliminating the need for fairleads, tensioners, and chains; reducing vessel size re-quirements; and using a reusable subsea winch system SEA TECHNOLOGY HAS SERVICED THE WORLD!
