M M RECOGNIZING DENNIS CLARAHAN, 2025 ICA PRODUCER OF THE YEAR BY ERIKA OSMUNDSON | Communications Director A Tru PRODUCER Clarahan Farms is located in Harper, Iowa. Today, the operation is run by Dennis and his wife, Sheryl, along with their two sons, Ryan and Neil. The operation consists of 400 cows, with approximately 500 cattle fi nished annually. They also grow row crops. Clarahan Farms earned its Century Farm title in 2023. Dennis’s family shared that he got his start like most rural children, showing cat-tle in 4-H and FFA. Dennis has fed cattle since he was seven years old, proudly tell-JANUARY 2026 It is hard not to smile when Dennis Clarahan approaches. With a strong handshake, possibly a hug, and a jovial hello, Dennis is not only a great person but a great cattle producer. The Iowa Cattlemen’s Association (ICA) was hon-ored to recognize Dennis Clarahan as ICA’s 2025 Producer of the Year at the Iowa Cattle Industry Convention held in December. Dennis is the fifth-generation of Clarahans to raise cattle in Keokuk County. 14 ing anyone who will listen that he has been in the business for over 60 years. The cattle operation is very focused on carcass quality, as apparent by Dennis’s dedication and participation in the ICA annual Carcass Challenge. Dennis routinely enters steers in this program to measure and benchmark his carcass quality characteristics, typically fi nishing in the top placements for retail value per day on feed.
